Movement in the galaxy, safe regions is all real time, just when you encounter an enemy on the battlefield, it switches to turn-based.
I've been curious about the universe map. Are there any screenshots of the playable galaxy/hexes etc?
Actually I will be making a video, since its better to see it in action/animated, and how ships travel around. The artists are doing some more enhancements to the 'universe' and on the next build I'll make a video.
Also wondering, if the Maalaketh and hive are at the borders but aren't playable, does AI versions of them attack then?
The map above would be a standard size, not large, not small. Call it 'medium'. The Ma'Alaketh and Hive border regions can be invaded by players, and their AI will mount a defensive run, that scales based on what you bring over (good for XP) (but you won't be able to take the region).
Yes, you can 'farm' but the more you fight there, the greater the reinforcements, it will get a little too risky and you'll lose your ship.
"The more you fight there" - The more ships you take out? The more turn you are there? Does leaving the "battlefield" then rejoining another/later resets this?
Yes, the enemy would come in waves, and eventually overwhelm the attackers, forcing you to retreat. If the area is left inactive for a while, it does reset it.
Working on a new trailer, it will be up in a few days. As for the white Q icons, yes, those are AI quests.
