Bug Log Post 3/31/17 Update and Server Reset

    Trying to mentally reset and ignore all previously posted bugs, reporting anything I see on the fresh server (hard to report things that you've come to instinctively work around sometimes, giving little thought to the issue actually being a bug).

    WARNING RESPECS ON RANK 5 OFFICERS ONLY RETURN 2 POINTS AND YOU CANNOT LEVEL THEM UP AGAIN!

    Sol Skills:

    Engineer

    Power Boost: Not Working
    Repair: Working as intended
    Dark Matter: Working as intended

    Stress Engines: Not Working properly, can sometimes provide additional power for movement under certain conditions (unknown, possibly if no other allocation changes made). Seems to only work on 2nd turn and beyond (no first turn use?)


    Medical

    Crew Healing: Unknown Effect
    Crew Toughness: Unknown Effect

    Escape: Locked for beta.


    Science

    Sensor Boost: Appears to be working sometimes?, detecting targets at 4 visible +1 range, however the additional range is not revealed and still 'white' tiles and you don't always reveal at 5. This skill is possibly being influenced by the new 'invalid target' bug and things not being where they appear to be.
    Sensor Shadow: Unknown Effect

    Shield Overcharge: Not Working
    Targeting/Disable Shot: Can be triggered but does not appear to disable weapon



    Weapons

    Damage Boost: Working as intended
    Range Boost: Does not appear to be working, though the ability is shown when hovering over a weapon. No noted increased in accuracy as a result of extending max range or additional shaded hexes on firing arc. Difficult to test when I would lose a target at 11 or 12 hex while remaining in LOS..?
    Lucky Shot: Working as intended. 13 range 80% rated weapon at 7 hex = 80% acc unboosted, 80*1.8 = 144% acc boosted
    Sol Overload: Working as intended
    Accuracy: Working as intended



    Helm

    Maneuver: Working as intended
    Tactical Advantage: Not Working
    Rotation: Locked for beta.
    Sol Evasive: Unknown Effect, but likely working


    Captain

    Leadership: Not Working
    Fleet Commander: Locked for beta.
    Tactical Advantage: Not Working
    Sol Support Ships: Locked for beta.
    Sol Commander: Not Working. Purchased a Class VII ship without any ranks.

    Activating an ability during allocation phase resets power configuration to whatever it was when the phase began (nullifying any orders given that phase before ability was triggered).

    Zone capture now progress by 2 points for a Class III ship kill (possibly intended change?)

    Capturing zones will now take significantly longer.

    Ability such as Sol Overload (once per battle) becomes lit up again during allocation phase of another battle in the same sector after all combat was dropped and free flight enabled, but gives a 'general error' when attempting to activate.

    Leaving the map and starting over completely still produces the error.

    -'Once per battle' really means once every time you leave a station (not once per round) -- so you'd have to go back to a station and dock for the cooldown to take effect. -Vesuvius

    I see, so just leaving to galaxy map isn't even enough.

    Can sometimes over-repair your hull during allocation phase, resulting in apparent hull HP greater than maximum (may be display error only and not actual HP)

    Respeccing an Elite officer (5 ranks) only refunds 2 points!

    Sometimes Transit and Allocation phases are active without the UI changing and allowing the player to give orders.

    Certain modifiers like Weapon Damage Boost are not always reflected on HUD (during allocation phase) and are only seen during combat phase.

    XP/LP are not immediately and continuously updated on UI and require game restart to refresh.

    Targets are sometimes 'invalid' for unknown reason and cannot be fired upon until they move.

    It appears as though the target may not be registered by the server in the position that the player sees it. I have had this bug happen with my ship before as well.

    Observed 'invalid' target snap to actual position (not move smoothly) and fire.

    Previous target that became 'invalid' was suffering from engine KO bug and was resolved by allowing counterfire to destroy it.

    Ship animation is displaced when 'warping out' of a zone. Animation proceeds from opposite direction of warp to location being warped from instead of from location to direction being warped to.

    -I think that was the artist's intention, but yeah, it does look wonky sometimes. -Vesuvius

    Clicking directly on an occupied (but unknown) enemy tile in the distance will result in your ship not moving.

    -Which in theory can be abused as a way to find where a hidden enemy is, so it somehow needs correction -Vesuvius

    not really because you would spend/waste mp probing that way
    it just makes for a few weird circumstances

    Unable to 'engage' alternate zones within a sector from galaxy map.

    -That should be a fix on the mapmaker that Art needs to do first that will eventually allow me to assign priority levels for each sub-sector in the spawn regions. -Vesuvius

    Stations drop to grid when engaged in combat instead of reaming in their ominous overwatch position.

    If an alpha-strike is successful at certain key points during reinforcement (such as the first one arrives and more are on the way, either at the very start of combat or other times), it seems to shut down all further reinforcements. Possibly a bug, possibly intended.

    Previously, this was very annoying because of how long it would take to slow-cap a zone by sitting in it for 5 pts a minute or whatever the rate is. Now, that slow-cap is faster than killing Class III's for 2 points and waiting for all the turn timers.

    -AI should be warping in that region before the wait-cap kicks in; in theory it should never happen. Also the issue on the first paragraph would be a bug. -Vesuvius

    Many skills/abilities that say [rounded up] do not round, they truncate all decimal portions of a point.

    Attempting to fire more weapons against a target than necessary to destroy it will not activate the additional weapon(s), but you will get a 'general error' upon trying to fire a still-ready weapon after this event.

    Taking damage from a source 'on the line' (hitting 2 sides at once) shows damage numbers on both sides and temporarily shows the depletion of both shields if any, but then 1 shield is chosen (at random/ordered? unsure) and all damage is removed from one.

    -Yeah, that is a gui bug, it should only show the side it did damage to. -Vesuvius

    Expect to see both surfaces glow in the event of being hit this way, but only a single damage number should appear or perhaps if two numbers stay, damage should be split to both sides evenly (or in the event of an odd number, the extra point always goes to the fore-most surface?).

    So getting hit by a Genari's 6 or 7 damage beam 'on the line' hitting port side aft and fore simultaneously should show a pair of 3's (one on each arc) or a single 6 (at the vertex of the 2 surfaces being hit), or a 3 to port aft and 4 to the port fore. Something along those lines.

    Currently when hit on the line, it looks like you are taking the full damage to both surfaces at the same time and then shield HP is refunded after resolving the hit.

    I'm in Golshan by default!

    (Not a bug, Sanethi outter home world)

    Was expecting all 3 homeworld stations to be Class XIII heavies, not just the inner most.

    Gloshan is a XII
