Now that I have my T6, and stronger than most players in game (finally out of that repair tender), I'm following these rules: 1 - Avoiding regions of mine being attacked by enemy low tier players. There no need to come in all tough with your baller ship and mess up the fun of some t3 or t4 players duking it out in a region. If anything, come in with your own T3 and have some fun. 2 - When someone has that once-in-a-blue moon general error bug, and is leaving the region, leave that player alone, or at least do not kill him. Its a bug, and its honorable play to let that player leave. 3 - In large battles with the enemy, I will go for the big players/veterans, and leave the new players alone. -Lastly, don't give in to hate, that leads to the dark side of the force. Love each other, you're playing in the same community.
Lost my t5 with 11 officer points last night when i fell asleep and lost my t6 today when alamar, a couple t4s and a t3 all warped in within 10 hexes from me when i was solo farming. Done with this game for awhile. 80 hours of gameplay within the past week down in the drain in less than 24 hours.
How many times have you guys come to harass me in large groups... or just to (basically, and happening this very moment) grief me. After all that crap, you're damn right I'll down one of you if I can. No regret. That's the objective of the war. They got lucky I happened to be checking the G-map and saw a T6, went in to check the situation and saw someone who put themselves in a really bad position. Unloaded 70+ damage and 6 marines on an already damaged (75% remaining) and more importantly, vulnerably positioned Kumano. I had let you go once before in your C5, but I can't afford to be so generous anymore with the player balance and strength of late Sol ships. There was C6 v C6 in that fight (not my C8) and a bunch of lower class ones on either side. I heard you were trying to chase a frigate around and that's why you ended up mid map. Starting now, if I can kill a C5, I will. All ships of veteran players are fair game. Artukk is on that list too for his reply to my informing him I intentionally went for Locke (a ship I couldnt down, wasnt my objective to kill at the time, just stall for our slow cappers) and let him live. It's tough because while I want people to stay and play, I also want to and play to win. If you quit, that's a morale failure/psychological victory... one less member of the community. Heh, warcamp was taunting me in one match. Fled when we went after you Eidolon (taunted him back). Then destroyed shortly after in a new match. Sweet revenge. He's not quitting though, one more thorn still in my side!
Dont try to change the narrative of the story. You have chased me into many maps trying to kill me while I've been solo farming and I've had to run every single time, dont act like your some sort of saint. You've never let me go in my T5 since you didnt have the damage to finish me off, I warped out since you couldn't kill me. I was solo farming in my t6 and an enemy t4 warped in, unleashed a full salvo on me and fled towards the middle of the map. Naturally I followed him which led to me ending up towards the middle of the map. The very next round, you warp in, a t4 and a t3 warp in, which all happened to warp in the side of the map closest to my ship. All of you got lucky warping in so close to me. So then I got hit by you, the t4s and the t3 giving me no chance to escape. Ive shown mercy to many genari pilots but I guess it was all in vain and pointless if I'm going to get shredded by 4 enemy ships. If I do end up playing again, I will show no mercy to any genari pilots I encounter.
Players like you are the reason i made this thread about balancing exp gains and bringing more equality to the game. Don't quit the game just support a solution like the one i mentioned in my thread. Xeen and the rest of you that love this game need to realize that if this problem isn't solved the game will die within 2 weeks. It started at 180 players/day at release and it is now at 50/day and dropping while people have more time playing due to holidays. Imagine what will happen after the Christmas break. I have already seen this cycle before with other hardcore games and i would hate it to happen with space wars too. Oh and once a game takes the down ride from bad initial impressions no marketing is going to save it after. You see bad reputation stays as a stink, i have witness this in hots the best of the mobas that has the least population because it had a bad start just like this game. Blizzard spend millions of dollars in advertising and the game is still struggling.
this game has built a culture on helping new players, we are getting better every day. experienced pilots are fair game. Its a great game of team work.
Game design dictates player behavior. You can't just tell people not to blow up their enemies when that is the entire point of the game. This is a design issue, not a behavior issue. Either lower levels have to be given some mechanic that allows them to compete, (such as giving them inherent evasion), or classes have to be segregated.
To adress the original Problem high Tier dropping into a low Tier combat Zone. Why not introduce a fleet Point cap instead of faction cap. For example a Tier 3 ist worth 2 Points , a Tier 4 4 Points and a Tier 5 = 8 Points. A low ranking System for example can hold 10 fleet Points either side = 5 xTier 3 or for example 1tier 5 +1 Tier 3 or 2 xTier 4 + 1 Tier 3 etc. I think this would Balance out These game where Tier 8 are Camping Systems and other of These unfortunate occurences right now
I'm VERY MUCH in agreement to this (modified), but many may not be. What do others say to this? It would be basically be: Tier 9-10 5 region units (so notice, in 4 player limit regions, this ship wouldn't be able to go there) Tier 7-8 4 region units Tier 5-6 3 region units Tier 4 2 region units Tier 1-3 1 region unit of course, the region limits can be expanded as well, especially when the AFK option gets done.
If you are going to do this, I would suggest changing the scale for more granularity. Turn a 4 Player region into a 40 unit region, and then adjust the scale to allow for greater spread between individual tiers (example only) Tier Units 10 50 9 45 8 40 7 35 6 30 5 25 4 20 3 15 2 10 1 5 Something along these lines creates a larger gradient of differences between specific Tiers. P.S. I would personally prefer that zone limits remain unchanged, and that the REWARDS for fighting higher/lower tiers be adjusted... but if you prefer a zone limit change instead, then I would like to see a higher granularity.
I would love this. It will bring a strategy layer to the game. Like the decision weather or not to bring higher tier ships or lower tier into one map. It will also really increase the role of escorts/lower tier ships. For instance i love running around in my c4, but at this moment it might represent a hindrance for my team when only c7/c8 are present and might occupy a slot instead of a better ship. In your proposed model this would not happen and my trained c4 officers could bring a decisive advantage in the field. I really really love it. P.S. it will also let new players be competitive in the game by actually having a use for their c3s. The only thing needing a change would be station defences maps. They are currently setup for high tier ships only. They could be changed to allow a rainbow fleet to prevail. This might be the best idea i've heard so far since the launch. And would fix some problems regarding experience/grind stated by others in other threads.
If you balance it well this could be a really good addition. It will make all ships useful not just the c3 and your top ship.
Well then, after the next patch of fixes (permadeath removal etc..), I can make this the next priority. However SupermanXOX, tier 1,2,3 would be in the same point value, just because tier 1 and 2 ships are more fun accessories than real gameplay ships.
To simplify matters, why not make a ships region unit value equivalent to it's tier, and adjust limits accordingly. This will make everything readily apparent to the player at face value.
IF possible I would love to see a list of ships cued to enter the region. To give you an impression what kind of opposition will drop in soon. Some may likew the surprise element but right now it is more like playing rusian roulette. IF you are not at the border of the map and a high tier jumps in you are mostly dead. this kills most of the map as a valid playing ground. Other iea to abuse Players of just usiing their high Tier ship would be some k ind of deplyoment cost ...fuel...ammunition ...crew... .
Oh I wanted to talk to you about a 'flagged hardcore' system where a ship designated hardcore has benefits like earns double XP/HP/LP and can train officers twice as fast, but ship is lost upon destruction and officers too (like the old/current system). Hardcore ships are hardcore for life (chosen at purchase, possibly reduced purchase cost, hardcore can never be changed unless ship is lost and repurchased) and will have some distinguishing marker on them such as an added red ring beneath their ship. Hardcore would also come with its own set of achievements. This way, you won't have to split the population into HC/SC servers. They can play together.
I really like this idea. Would allow players who really enjoy the permadeath part of the game to still enjoy it although I would be critical on any bonus XP/LP/Hp awards as this could lead to serious unbalancing if too much. I'd also like to offer the idea that this could only be done with one of the players ships, essentially the players 'Flag Ship' of there choice . Thoughts for the future no doubt
It can't be just one, because then you could never pick a new one without sacrificing the previous one.
