So what are credits used for?

    Sorry if I'm missing something obvious but it seems like leadership points are used to buy ships so what are credits for?

    credits are for unlocking different variants of ships, respecing officers and capt. skills, and changing your avatar.

    It is the 'monetization' of the game when it launches (as the game is free to play)
