We are looking at Mid-December for Early Access Beta. It will be available on Steam.

 

Learning Curve:
Sol Imperial Worlds (Humans) -- The easiest to play
Genari Star Empire -- Moderately difficult, but much more rewarding if you're skillful
Ma'Alaketh Confederation -- Easy/Moderate
The Hive (upon its eventual adoption to the game) -- Difficult, but definitely most interesting

 

The multiplayer is purely MMO-style, eg. hundreds of players fighting for their faction. It can be any combination of 1v1, 2v2, 2v1, 3v3, 3v1, 4v5 , 8v2 etc... with the homeworlds having the max sized battlemaps of up to 20v20. Though when other factions come in, it could theoretically be three or four factions fighting for the same region.
There will be instanced battle royales and tournaments however, that do not affect one's position in the mmo universe (other than xp and medal bonuses)

 

Multi-account users who try to beef their main avatar up will always be a problem in any turn-based strategy ladder system. Running the Heroes of Might and Magic tournament for a dozen years, I would see that a lot. Using a player's IP and cross-referencing it is a first step, then keeping track of players who accelerate quickly -- along with the fact that all win/losses are logged with who played whom. These will be methods to keep track of potential abusers.

 

Not on the same server, but when the member base grows, another server starts up.

 

Yes, there is a chat system where you not only communicate with friends (and have a friends list) but also a clan system for a more intimate group.

 

Yes, it will have steam early access, the game is built on the Unity engine.
