Once a week, players will be offered a new ship variant which they can compete for a build.
The most original and practical version of the ship will be selected; the player who submits that winning version gets 500 credits, and is mentioned in the lore for that ship.

As this is the first run on the contest for a Genari ship, we will start with one of the simplest Genari designs -- the Agile Flyer Class III Corvette.

    agileflyer.jpg

The Agile Flyer is a dual-purpose ship, acting both as a fast scout, and a pretty powerful quick-strike ship. It tends to be faster and with higher initiative than most other corvettes, and the fact that it boasts three lasers makes it capable of a decent offensive run for its class.

Use the system reference tables below for building your ship:

    ENGINES
    0genengines.jpg

    WEAPONS
    0genweapons.jpg

    SHIELDS
    0genshields.jpg

    SCANNERS

    0genscan.jpg

    Also:
Hull Modifiers: (armor level, up to 3 levels)

    • Armor Level 0 (max 3 marine pods): 19 base hull (adds 30 weight)
    • Armor Level 1 (max 2 marine pods): 21 base hull (adds 30 weight)
    • Armor Level 2 (max 1 marine pod): 23 base hull (adds 30 weight)
    • Armor Level 3 (max 0 marine pod): 25 base hull (adds 30 weight)
    • Reduce armor or pod levels to remove excess weight if needed

    When building the ship:

    • Use the Engines, Weapons, Shields and Scanners tables to select your systems.
    • You cannot exceed a total of 94 mass, and 93 crew.
    • Engine MUST be a 2x coupled set.
    • Ship can only support level 1 shields.
    • You can have up to three lasers in the forward arc, center hardpoint can be a heavy laser or missile.
    • If using engines over 16 power, weapon mass total cannot exceed 18 wt.
    • -1 power if missile used on center weapon hardpoint.

    Reference Build Example:

    Agile Flyer TYPE II
    Engine: GSEFHD-2x2 Crew 52 WT 24
    Power 16
    Weapons: GSELB-2x3 3F Crew 18 WT 18
    Sensors: GSES-4 (range14) Crew 15 WT 20
    Armor Level 3
    ---------------------------------------------------
    Total Crew 85 WT 62+30 =92
    Hull: 23 (armor level 2)

AGILE FLYER V - Mixed Weapons Scout - Edited Version
    ARMOR 25
    WING WEAPONS - GSELFB-1B (3 DMG each; Mass 2x4; Crew 2x6)
    CENTER WEAPON - GSEFW-6 (6 DMG; Mass 20; Crew 18)
    NO SHIELDS
    ENGINES - GSEFHD-2x2 (Total Power 16; Mass 24; Crew 52)
    SCANNERS - GSES-2 - Range 10; Mass 5; Crew 6)
    ARMOR LVL 3
    Total Mass 87 Crew 88

Engines limited to 16 Power so heavier Weapons Loadout is possible
1- Power cause of Center Missile Weapon = 15 power

Basically a Heavy Weapons Platform with all Front Weapons - Laser Weapons choosen with regard to close range effectiveness. Flyer should be able to close the distance so no range needed.

-Not sure what LFB-1B is, but 3 damage beams would be LB-3, 3A, and 4

    Agile Flyer TYPE V
    Engine: GSEFHD-1Ax2 Crew 52 WT 24
    Power 15
    Weapons: GSEHLB-2 1F Crew 25 WT 25
    Weapons: GSELB-1 x2 2F Crew 8 WT 4
    Sensors: GSES-2 (range10) Crew 6 WT 5
    Armor Level 0
    3 marine pods
    ---------------------------------------------------
    Total Crew 91 WT 58+30=88
    Hull: 19 (armor level 0)

I made a ship that has a heavy laser beam in the middle but still two more lasers, and marine pods, so its pretty powerful.

-Another heavy firepower ship, with troops as bonus -Vesuvius

    Agile Flyer 5
    Engines: GSEFHD-3 x 2 =60 Crew 32 Tons / Power 20 -1 =19
    Scanner: GSES-2 = 6 Crew 5 Tons
    Weapons: GSEFW-6 18 Crew 20 Tons, 7 Damage
    GSELB-3 9 Crew 10 Tons, 4 Damage
    Armor Level 2
    No pod
    -------------------------------------------------------
    Totals; 93 Crew 87 Tons, 23 Hull

A fast and tough ship that has more damage output than any other Agile Flyer. Sacrifices marine pods.

-A fast missile launcher, aka a fast Bengbu V -Vesuvius

Agile flyer V marine assault vessel
    Engines: GSEFHD-1A x2 = 52 crew 24 tons 15 power
    scanner: GSES-4 = 15 crew 20 tons 14 range
    shields: GSEFF4 = 14 crew 13 tons
    Weapons: GSELB-1 = 12 crew 6 tons
Armor level 0 with 3 marine pods 30 tons
    Total: 93 crew, 93 tons
Designed to find ships and put marines on them, the vacuum pounders demanded a quick assault vessel to find and board enemy ships. The weapons are more to test for shields than to cause damage.

-Very weak firepower, more pods than any agile flyer however -Vesuvius

    More damage lasers

    Agile Flyer TYPE V
    Engine: GSEFHD-2x2 Crew 52 WT 24
    Power 16
    Weapons: GSELB-5 x3 3F Crew 45 WT 45
    Sensors: GSES-2 (range10) Crew 6 WT 5
    Armor Level 3
    ---------------------------------------------------
    Total Crew 103 WT 104
    Hull: 25

-You went off parameters, you cannot have more than 93 crew, 94 wt -Vesuvius

Agile Flyer V (space superiority corvette)
    Engine: GSEHFD-3 x2 crew=60 mass=32 power output=20
    weapons:
    center: GSEFW-3 crew 9 mass=10 damage=4
    wings: GSELB-1a x2 crew 10 mass=6 damage=1
    no shields
    scanner: ES-2 Crew=4, mass=3
    armor level 1

    crew total:83
    mass total:78
    engine :19
    Hull:21
    marine pods:2
    max consistent damage with modifiers:14
    consistent movement with no modifier:28.5
    consistent movement with max damage:22.5

you gotta be fast if you want to properly be the most "agile" of flyers. it is unfortunate the missile takes away 1 engine from that otherwise wholesome 20.
i had the option of slapping LB-1b for the option of 4 more max damage, but i be doing newbies a favor by not having them stumble in the "charge all guns to max" pit fall and not be the most "agile" of flyers. 14 damage is the right amount of damage since max repair is 12. it allows the players to set up for the kill via rally. of course you can overload with this build and it add an additional 12 damage to the 14, making it 26, but that needs a lot of work to get there. but it would make short work of heavier armored bengu variants.

-Similar to Baalrog's ship but with more maneuverability -Vesuvius

@NightWolf - The same question arose in my mind. Maximum 3 Marine Pods (shown by the three Ms hardpoints on the Agile Flyer Chassis) and the description of the Hull - Armor Level 0. Confirmed on Off-Topic chat. If not mistaken, Marine Pods add 10 weight/0 crew per pod.
@Pendragon - Could be an excellent time to learn the true power of Genari and what the Matriachs have awaiting Sol Fleets.

Agile Flyer V defensive variant, as we know its sometimes nicknamed Fragile Flyer! So here's one with shields & max armor.

    Engine: GSEFHD-2 x2, 52 Crew, 24 Weight, 16 Power
    Shields: GSEFF-3 12 crew, 10 wt (3 power shield)
    Scanners: GSES-2, 6 Crew, 5 Weight, 10 Range
    Weapons: GSELB-2A x2 21 Crew, 21 Weight, 6 Damage
Armor Level 3- 30 Weight, 25 Hull, 0 Marines Pods

    Total Crew: 91
    Total Weight: 90
    Total Hull: 25
    Total Power: 16

-The most defensive variant so far, good for AI fleet commander ships. -Vesuvius

Hope I'm not too late to submit my design!
Agile Flyer V Design: Engines: 2 GSEFD-5 (10 Mass, 40 Crew, 10 power) , Weapons: 2*GSEFW-6 (40 Mass, 36 Crew), 1*GSEFW-4 (12 Mass, 10 Crew), Shields:None, Scanners: GSES-2 (5 Mass, 6 Crew) Total: 67 Mass, 92 Crew, 10 Power. I call it the "Oppressor". It's a heavy missile variant with weaker engines to counterbalance increased damage output.(Sorry if it's messy, my "Return" Key is broken:))(Also feel free to correct any errors, I only saw this like 20 minutes ago)

-Hey Decimus, unfortunately you can only have one missile hardpoint, the center one, the others have to be laser :( - Vesuvius

Alright, I just fixed my return key (I'm so very proud of myself, feel free to ask so I can show off my below-average computer skills:))

Ok, Imma just put the biggest one I can on it.
    Same engines, shields, scanners.
    Weapons: 1* GSEFW-10 (45 crew, 50 mass)
    Total = 65 Mass, 91 Crew, 10 Power

This reminds me of character creation in many tabletop games. In a lot of ways, its the most fun part of the game and it says a lot about the player. I see my rant on overload have paid off since lots of designs want the "Big Missile". If the star warrior ever get a contest, i hope people take into consideration "targeting" exist and is hardly used.

If i am not mistaken "targeting" only works for one round and is broken cause it cant be reactivated.

    Hard to test actually.

-It is supposed to only work one round, just like other active skills -Vesuvius

Its suppose to be active allocation exactly like overload. only once. the supposed purpose is to outspeed the enemy and shutdown their weapons. this carry the risk of getting counter fired. the other purpose of targeting is to reduce the effectiveness of a ship's repair by forcing them to repair their weapons or you get a round without retaliation from them. this is the more practical use for it and you only need one round of this.

-Correct, and the more weapons you have, the more enemy weapons you can shut down. Great for assault ships. -Vesuvius

also, hmmmmm, what is this? who won?

So, I've created a ship that takes elements from Baalrog, Amishjoe, and Blingon's concepts, to make an AFV that will be on even grounds with other Agile Flyers. Baal and Amish now have AFV's in their inventory, and all three players got rewarded 200 credits each.
    The details of the ship:

    Agile Flyer TYPE V
    Engine: GSEFHD-1Ax2 Crew 52 WT 24
    Power 15
    Weapons:
    GSEFW-3 1F Crew 9 WT 10
    GSELB-2Bx2 2F Crew 16 WT 16
    Sensors: GSES-4 (range14) Crew 15 WT 20
    Armor Level 2 pods 0
    ---------------------------------------------------
    Total Crew 92 WT 70+20=90
    Hull: 23 (armor level 2)
